10 days and counting until Valentine’s Day friends! How excited are you? I hope VERY. You know I am. So a few days ago I put together a little v-day gift guide for the ladies in your life. So I I thought I’d put together one for the men..even though I find the males very hard to shop for. But I figure if I find it difficult, then I’m sure some of you do too, so I’ve gone ahead and made it easier for you. You’re welcome.
Here’s what I think your man love will like this year.
man can // coffee // french press // headphones // tie // game
What do you think? Would your guy like these gifts?

Happy February, friends! I can’t believe the first month of 2016 has come and gone! How are your New Year’s resolutions coming? Maybe that’s a conversation for another day..
The day of official day of love is two weeks away and if you have a special lady or any gal pals that you are hoping to spoil this year, I have a gift round-up for you!
perfume // necklace // candle // matches // exfoliant // blanket // bracelet
Valentines is one of my very favorite holidays! Growing up my mom always loved it. She would hang red cut-out hearts from the chandelier above our dinning room table. Serve a special Valentines day dinner, make cupcakes with hearts on top and would always give a gift to me and my brother. I always looked forward to making Valentines for my classmates each year and still make homemade cards for my close friends.
If you want to spread some love this Valentine’s but don’t feel like getting out your glue sticks and paints like me, I’ve rounded up some of my favorite Valentines cards. There are SO many good ones, it was hard to narrow it down.
top: Be Mine, Boatload, Shiny Gold
middle: Painted flowers, Moon, My Favorite
bottom: Magic, Hogs, Be Naked
PS. You can see last year’s Valentine round-up here.
I love love love Valentine’s Day. I REALLY do. A holiday devoted to showing friends and family how much you love them in the form of candy and love notes.. sign me UP!
I love sending cards to friends all year long, but Valentines Day is extra fun because the cards are usually pink and girly and extra sweet.
Here are some of my favorites
Cozy Couple . Heart Balloon . Mermaid . Bee Mine . Take Out . Dog
How do you plan on sending some love on V Day?!

I’m currently cozied up at my parents home in Park City, still in my PJs at 10:00 am (on a Monday. hooray!) and snuggling with my Howie. The Christmas tree lights are on, the fire is roaring and it’s snowing outside. I don’t think I could think up a more ideal scenario. To say I’m happy to be home is an understatement.
This year feels extra special since my visits home are far and few in between since moving to Chi last January. Every year before this one, I never lived more than 40 miles from my parents. Now that I’m halfway across the country, coming home is extra sweet.
Of course my mom prepped all day yesterday to make sure the house was stocked with my favorite foods (including my all-time fave peanut butter kiss cookies, banana bread AND pumpkin bread). My room was prepped with Christmas decorations and my favorite magazines – to say my mom is the greatest doesn’t do it justice.
I’ve been thinking a lot about my past Christmases and the traditions my family has during the holidays, and to be honest, there aren’t that many things that we do year after year. But there are a few:
For the past couple of years my parents and I will ski on Christmas day. We open up our stockings in the morning while we drink our coffee and eat (far too many) cinnamon rolls, then we pile into the car with our snow pants on and skis in tow and we spend a few hours on the mountain. Then we’ll come home and open the rests of our gifts (while we continue to eat an inappropriate amount of cinnamon rolls and other various sweets).
We always have A Christmas Story playing on repeat in the background, usually in the afternoon, once we’ve watched the movie through a good five times, we’ll put it on mute and put on Christmas tunes. Our go-to is A Charlie Brown Christmas or Nat King Cole. My mom and I will cook in the afternoon to prepare for our Christmas dinner. Some of my very favorite memories are of my mom and I cooking while Christmas music plays in the background.
It’s so interesting how different my life is from last Christmas. And I’m sure in another year or five, it will be even more different, and I’m so excited that I’ll be able to create even more traditions.
What are you looking forward to over the next week? What are your traditions?
I am so beyond excited that Christmas is a short 15 days away. There isn’t one single thing about Christmas that I don’t love. It’s just the best. End of story.
Although shopping for and discovering the perfect gift for someone is my probably favorite part about the season, wrapping presents is a very close second. I have always loved wrapping ever since I was little. My dad and I have a tradition where we spend a day together and buy my mother’s Christmas gifts (mostly because he’s a bad shopper and needs my opinion). But after our day of shopping, I lock myself in my bedroom with a beverage (it used to be eggnog, now it’s usually something a bit stronger), blare Christmas tunes and wrap my heart out. I could wrap for hours and never tire of it.
I’m a firm believer that the outside of a package should be just as special and exciting as what’s inside.
Here are my papers that I’m using this year:

Here is some wrap-inspo that I’m absolutely loving:
Do you look forward to wrapping as much as I do? How will you be wrapping this year!?
