We’re less than a week away from Valentine’s Day friends. What are you doing for the big day of love? Currently I have absolutely nothing planned, which is so unlike me. But I’m sure something fun will come up! I’ll keep you posted.
I do know that I plan on listening to over-the-top, lovey-dovey tunes all week long (which isn’t too different from a normal week, tbh). If you want to join in on the sappy song fun, I’ve put together a Spotify playlist that you should subscribe to! The jams I’ve included include (but are limited to this list:
So I’ve been listening to this list for over a week now, and I’ve realized that some songs that I always thought were iconic love song, are actually really depressing!! For example, When a Man Loves a Woman.. This is a verse from the song:
When a man loves a woman
Spend his very last dime
Trying to hold on to what he needs
He’d give up all his comfort
Sleep out in the rain
If she said that’s the way it ought to be
I NEVER noticed how dark the lyrics are until now. Oh well, it’s not going to stop me from listening and pretending that it’s the perfect love song.
What are some of your favorite love songs? I’d LOVE to know 😉

My Spotify music got a bit out of hand over the last year.
I was a late bloomer to Spotify, but since I made the switch, I’ve never looked back and use it for all of my music listening needs. During my at-home yoga practice, while at work and for marathon training. I started out with a bad habit of just “staring” the songs that I liked and all of these songs jumbled together in one huge playlist.
It was absolute chaos.
Bon Iver would soothe me with his sweet, raspy voice and then immediately after Britney would scream at me about how she’s toxic. Believe me, there is a time and a place for Britney, but while I’m trying to write an email at work, or trying to get my zen on at home is not that time or place.
So, I’ve finally started organizing my music into playlists, and my life has never felt more organized. I don’t know why it took me so long to do this. I knew I could, I just never did. Hello laziness.
Anyways, if you want to listen to my newly organized playlists, here are some of my most loved:
Calm + Cool. Perfect for early mornings sitting on your porch, in the sunshine with coffee in hand
Fun Fun Fun. Pump Up the Jams type music. Feel good and energy inducing.
Total Zen. Ideal for all your yoga or meditation needs.
Run Girl Run. My favorite running songs, over five hours of music. This bad boy got me through the Chicago Marathon last year.
What are your favorite Spotify playlists? Let’s do a swap!
